A PhD student in the School of Information Science at the University of Pittsburgh. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science in 1995 from Dickinson College and a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Indiana University in 1997. His primary research areas include human-computer interaction for virtual environments, information visualization, and visual cognition. Prior to returning to doctoral studies, he worked for the User-Centered Design Team for the AS/400 Division of IBM. He managed usability concerns for development teams on several major projects, including AS/400 Lotus Domino, IBM HTTP Server for AS/400, and DB2 UDB for AS/400. He has been awarded the Pennsylvania Space Grant Consortium Fellowship from 1999 to 2001.
